Sri Lanka suffered another defeat in their ICC Twenty20 World Cup warm-up fixtures, when they were overwhelmed by an attacking Pakistani bowling line up to slump to a 15-run defeat.
Pakistan who elected to bat first at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, India laid a 39 run foundation before opener Sharjeel Khan was sent back to the dressing room for 23 runs, followed by Ahemad Shehzad for 18.
Mohammad Hafeez was the anchorman belting an unbeaten 70 runs off 49 balls while wickets collapsed around him to steer Pakistan to 157 for 5 in 20 overs. Chasing their target the Lankans were restricted to 142 for 9 in 20 overs, handing Pakistan a confident victory.
The much anticipated World T20 tournament will commence on Tuesday, with Sri Lanka defending their title as World T20 champions.
