Between 100 and 110 verbal suggestions have been recorded from the general public in the district of Colombo with regards to proposed constitutional reforms.
Chairman of the Public Representations Committee on Constitutional Reforms, Attorney-at-Law Lal Wijenayake said, the committee had received more than 200 written proposals.
A public forum, held at the Secretariat’s office down Staple Street, Colombo 2, was launched on January 18 in order to gather suggestions and proposals from the general public for the proposed constitutional reforms. The obtaining of views from the district of Colombo came to a close on Friday.
Chairman of the Public Representations Committee on Constitutional Reforms, Attorney-at-Law Lal Wijenayake added that next, starting from the 1st of February 1 till the 29, the public forum will be conducted across all 25 districts in the country.
