Airport Customs seizes stock of Agarwood worth millions

An individual was arrested at the Katunayake International Airport for attempting to smuggle a stock of Agarwood. According to Customs officials, the stock of Agarwood seized weighed 23.4 kilogrammes and is worth Rs.9.6 million.

The 32-year-old suspect, who is a resident of Nawalapitiya, attempted to smuggle the stock of Agarwood in his luggage to Abu Dhabi, but was caught by Customs officials on the evening of  Saturday, January 16.

Further investigations into the incident are underway.
