According to the National Consumer Price Index, inflation for the month of November has risen. The Department of Census and Statistics notes that the National Consumer Price Index for all items for the month of November 2015 was 112.0
The Department adds that an increase of 2.8 index points or a percentage of 2.6 was noted in November 2015 compared to October 2015 for which the index was 109.2.
The Department goes on to say that the index increased by 2.65% and this was due to the increase of food items by 2.14% and increase of non‐food items by 0.51% respectively.
The Department of Census and Statistics goes on to say that significant increase in value change in index were reported for vegetables, green chilies, rice, big onions, potatoes, coconuts , limes, red onions, fresh fish, dried chilies and sugar.
The overall rate of inflation as measured by NCPI on a year on year basis is 4.8% in November 2015.
