Investigations continue into ITN’s Rs. 200m loss

Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, on Thursday November 19, arrived at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Serious Acts of Fraud and Corruption.

The MP arrived at the commission in order to provide evidence into the incident in which the Independent Television Network (ITN) incurred a loss of Rs. 200 million in propaganda activities during the recent presidential election.

The proceedings were postponed to Friday, November 20, as the reports of the previous commissions were not presented to the defendant’s attorneys.

Meanwhile, the Former Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Damayanthi Jayatilleke appered at the Commission on Thursday to provide a statement over the incident where firearms were allegedly provided to Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Limited without following the proper legal procedure.
