The countdown continues, as we tick closer to August 17, when this country goes to the polls to elect their representatives to Parliament. With twenty days left, this is what Prime Minister Ranil Wikremesinghe had to say.
Leader of the UNP PM Ranil Wickremesinghe says that if they want to develop the village, they need to develop its roads, lakes and markets, adding likewise they are bringing in a programme to develop the rural economy of the country.
He notes that they will establish a tourism hub in Nuwara Eliya as well. Speaking further, he notes that if they are to encourage the tourists to the country, they need to allow the locals to earn their living by functioning as tour guides, putting up restaurants, shops and guest houses.
Making a special statement, he added that four years from now, internet facilities will be provided to every household.
