The price of a Litro Gas will be reduced by Rs. 100 rupees with effect from midnight today (July 14).
Issuing a communique, the Ministry of Finance said that the price of a domestic gas cylinder will thus be reduced by Rs. 100.
Speaking at a media briefing on June 4, Executive Chairman of Litro Gas Shaleela Munasinghe said that following the revelation of a number of corrupt and fraudulent activities, it was possible to reduce the price of a cylinder of gas.
As a result, based on the instructions of the Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake, the benefit of such fraudulent activities be passed on to the consumer, she said. The communique further said that if activities of fraudulent and corrupt nature are revealed in the future, the benefits of eradicating such corrupt activities will be passed on to the consumer.
