Four suspects have been arrested for allegedly  treasure-hunting in the lower area of the Green Garden region of Gampola.

Police stated that tools allgedly used by the perpetrators in the excavation of treasure were taken into their custody.

The suspects are said to be residents of the Dambulla and Serunuwara areas and are aged 23, 34, 43 and 72 years. The arrested suspects are to be produced before the Gampola Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
