23 Individuals including Parliamentarians who were granted bail on charges of demonstrating in close proximity to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption despite a court order, provided their statements to the Cinnamon Gardens Police on Saturday (May 9th).

26 persons including UPFA MPs who engaged in the demonstration despite a court order were produced in court on Friday. They were granted bail and court ordered them to provide their statements by visiting the Cinnamon Gardens Police.

Thereby six monks representing various organizations, ten MP’s and five provincial councilors provided their statements on Saturday.

Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara thero who did not appear in court on Friday was not present to provide a statement today as well. Lawyers informed courts that the Venerable thero had traveled abroad.
