The Lanka Public Health Inspectors Union states that 213 dhansalas with issues have been identified.
Secretary of the Union Senarath Bandara stated that activities of three such dhansalas have been temporarily halted.
He said that when investigations were conducted they identified that the water used to make drinks in ‘drink dhansalas’ are unfit for consumption. He said that they have therefore had discussions with those individuals and have temporarily halted activities of three such Dhansalas.
Senarath Bandara went on to say that apart from the shortcomings in food Dhansalas and the preparation of the food and products unfit for consumption have been identified. He added that discussions will be held with the individuals concerned and measures taken in this regard.
