The Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya organised by The Capital Maharaja Organisation and the John Keells group will begin on the evening of Sunday, May 03.
All preparations have been made to begin the Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya. The Sirasa Vesak Zone will held on May 3, 4 and 5 at the Sirasa Media Network premises situated in Braybrooke Place, Colombo 2.
Devotees who visit the Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya will be able to witness the Relics of Lord Buddha and the Relics of Lord Budhha’s two chief disciples Sariyuth and Mugalan.
The Sirasa Vesak Zone will also consist of an animated Pandol, Vesak lanterns and Bhakthi Gee. A few Dansalas have also being organised on behalf of the devotees.
The animated Pandal will portray the Wedabbha Jathakaya and the story of Sariputta Moggallana.
The bringing of the Sacred Relics to the Vesak Kalapaya will begin on the afternoon of Sunday, May 03 therefore devotees will be able to witness these relics from 5 p.m. onwards
The relics which are initially from Kandy Yatigalahala temple will be brought to the Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya from the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya in a perahera consisting of a motorcade.
The Relics of Lord Budhha’s two chief disciples Sariyuth and Mugalan will also be brought from the Maradana Mahabodhi Ashrawaka Temple.
This is also the fifth instance the Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya is being organised on behalf of Buddhist devotees.
