One died and another four persons sustained injuries in a motor accident that occurred along the Anuradhapura – Kurunegala main road.

The accident took place at the Amunukola area in Galgamuwa when a three-wheeler collided with a SUV.

The deceased was a 70-year-old passenger inside the three-wheeler, a resident of Girabawa.

According to the police, the four injured have been admitted to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital. It is learnt that one of them is in a critical condition.
