Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket National Select Committee Kapila Wijegunawardene says that the responsibility of the committee is not merely limited to selecting the players.
He made this view in an exclusive interview with Sports1st on Saturday. A Product of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, Kapila Wijegunawardene played for Sri Lanka from 1988 to 1992.
A right-arm pacer, Kapila Wijegunawardene, also played for SSC and has played in two Test Matches and 26 ODIs for the country.
Kapila Wijegunawardene elaborated on the responsibility of the National Select Committee.
Wijegunawardene adds that influence and criticism is ‘a normal thing’ faced by a Selection Committee.
