The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has launched investigations into Former Minister Rohitha Abeygunewardena and Former Deputy Minister Lakshman Wasantha Perera. The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption said that the investigations were launched following a complaint made to the Commission.
Meanwhile the Bribery Commission said that the investigation on MP Lakshman Wasantha Perera commenced on Tuesday, March 3.
United National Party Parliamentarian Buddhika Pathirana made a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on Wednesday. The complaint was made on a private housing institution which is charging money without the approval of the Central Bank.
Meanwhile, the JVP lodged 20 complaints with the Fraud Investigations Bureau on Wednesday.
The complaints comprised of anomalies which have taken place within the country’s National Lotteries Board, the Milco Company and the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.
