The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended a formal written invitation to U.N. Human Rights Commissioner Prince Zeid Ra’ad Zeid Al-Hussein to visit the Country.
The Ministry added that the visit would be in anticipation of the U.N. Human Rights Commission session which is due to be held in March.
Senior Special Adviser on Foreign Relations to President Maithripala Sirisena, Professor Jayantha Dhanapala, had recently held discussions with the U.N. Human Rights Commissioner .
Earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera left the Country on an official visit to the United States of America and the United Kingdom.
