According to the police the license plate on the vehicle discovered in Piliyandala, on Saturday, was fake.
Police stated that they have received information related to an individual who produces cars with auto parts imported from abroad.
Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Ajith Rohana, noted that an investigative team is currently trying to ascertain as to who brought the car to the house where it was discovered.
Investigations have also commenced into the 68,000 clocks which were discovered in Sapugaskanda on Sunday. Police state that clocks have been stocked in a private warehouse and a monthly rental of Rs.1.5 million was paid by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
Furthermore, according to police, 172 vehicles belonging to Presidential Secretariat are still unaccounted for.
The Police Media Spokesperson added that these vehicles have been issued to various persons.
