Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has extended his gratitude to the Sri Lankan Bar, for standing firm in the face of many challenges.
He made this statement at the Conference of Attorneys General of South, South-East, East and West Asia which was held at the BMICH in Colombo on Monday, under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena.
The Conference of Attorneys Generals was organised in line with the 130th Anniversary of the establishment of the Office of the Attorney General of Sri Lanka.
A distinguished gathering including President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Ministers, MPs and Attorneys and Prosecutors General from countries in the region participated in this conference.
In his address, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe expressed his gratitude to Sri Lanka’s legal community and also spoke on the importance of inculcating a rule of law mindset.
Attorney General, Attorney-at-Law Yuwanjana Wanasundera speaking at the occasion stated that the conference was a good opportunity for the leaders of the legal community in the region to network.
