Maithripala Sirisena, presidential candidate of the New Democratic Front, speaking in Nallur, Jaffna on Tuesday, reiterated that he has not reached any secret agreements with any party or organisation.

Sirisena, who engaged in several election campaign events in the Northern Province, participated in a meeting along with several representatives of the common opposition in Nallur.
There are about 49 parties and organisations with us now. The Muslim Congress and the Muslim National Front are also among that. So we invited the Tamil National Alliance to come join us in our common task. The Tamil National Alliance decided to pledge their support to us, not based on any documentation but with like-mindedness and understanding. The government recently spread false rumours that there was an agreement signed with UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe. We reject such claims. None of the paperwork holds any power. Power is with everyone and anyone who works honestly on behalf of one another based on their conscience.
