Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana says that a notification will be issued to terminate the service of the OIC of Wanduraba, Police Inspector P.L. Keerthisinghe.

SSP Ajith Rohana noted that this notice will be issued, if the OIC of Wanduraba fails to report to work.

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana noted that extensive investigations are being carried out against the Wanduraba OIC.

Addressing a press conference on Monday evening, Police Inspector Keerthisinghe said a situation had arisen where he could no longer execute his duties.

The news came in the wake of an incident last week, where a stage at a public rally in Wanduraba, Galle was set ablaze.

Presidential Candidate Maithripala Sirisena was due to address the rally.
