The Galle District Youth Organisation Leader of the National Freedom Front, Aruna Danushka Silva and UPFA Member of the Rathgama Pradeshiya Sabha, Gnanapala Silva pledged support to New Democratic Front Presidential Candidate Maithripala Sirisena on Thursday.

The announcement was made at a media briefing held at the Opposition Leader’s Office.

Parliamentarian, Rajitha Senaratne shared these views:
He will not go when he is defeated. He has two more years to serve. I do not know which part of the constitution Venerable Bengamuwe Nalaka Thero read. He may have read books of sermons, but I do not know whether he has read the constitution. Because the constitution says that he can serve out those two years if he wins. If he loses, he must resign immediately. That is all. Today they are sprouting defeatist stories. Today, they are being asked to remove all the equipment from the President’s Office. Although he writes all these important letters, the Secretary to the President has informed all the senior officers to send all the files to him. In order to remove them. To take out the documents from those files. Thereby, he is issuing official letters in a way that no one understands, to remove all these files before the 1st of January.
MP Prof. Rajiva Wijesinha shared these views:
I asked for a report on how many Mahindodaya laboratories had been constructed and opened. Last week I received the report from the North Central Province. Seventy five (75) have not been opened. Why? They are waiting for the election. But the people know this. I only received the report for the North Central Province. You can study it. These are being built for the election. It is useless for the children. I say that on one hand there has been development, but it has not happened to any plan.
