General Secretary of UPFA Minister Susil Premajayantha expressed these views at a press conference convened by the United People’s Freedom Alliance in Colombo on Wednesday.
The biggest difference that exists between the United People’s Freedom Alliance and the Opposition’s Alliance is that, our alliance was formed on the 20th of January 2004. The first agreement that was made was that in accordance with the constitution, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party should hold a 50% plus one majority in the executive committee of the alliance. Likewise, the leader of the alliance was always an SLFPer. The Secretary was an SLFPer from the alliance. But now, according to what Tissa Attanayake disclosed, such a situation does not exist within the opposition’s alliance.
