The People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections or PAFFREL says that a monitoring panel consisting of thirty five international monitors will be engaged in monitoring activities at the forthcoming presidential elections.
PAFFREL Executive Director, Rohana Hettiarachchi said that the move was granted approval by the Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya Hettiarachchi. He also added that twenty incidents of election law violation have been recorded by PAFFREL so far.
Meanwhile, the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections or CaFFE says thirty nine cases of election law violations have been recorded by their organisation since the declaration of the forthcoming presidential polls. Executive
Attorney-at-Law at the Centre for Monitoring Election Violence Rasanga Harischandra says that 09 incidents of election violence had been reported to the centre so far.
