The Ministerial Committee appointed to suggest ways to provide economic relief to the public has commenced  work.

Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, a member of the committee, stated that a mechanism will be enacted soon to reduce the price of goods.

Minister of Mass Media and Information, Keheliya Rambukwella expressed the following views:

“We discussed many topics in detail. We spoke about the price of rice, vegetables, sprats and dry fish. There is a minor complaint that the the price of goods is high even though the rest is all good. I think our president has heard this. We have taken a number of decisions. We have finished the war in the country.”

He added; “ We are developing the country in terms of economy. We will work towards finding a solution to the problem of the livelihood of people, as the third step. We are not here to give false promises and win your votes nor are we going  to come during election time, give a leaflet and leave.

The Minister expressed these views while inaugurating several development projects in the Kundasale Electorate in Kandy.

Shortly after Minister Rambukwella’s statement was telecast on the main news bulletin at 7pm on our sister channel Sirasa TV, we received this response.
