The leak on the main Battaramulla- Poldoowa water line which distributes water from the Ambatale Purification Centre to a number of locations in and around Colombo has been repaired, and the pumping of water has re-commenced.
General Manager of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Ranjith Balasooriya said that at present, pumping of water to the water pool near the Kotte Raja Maha Viharaya is at the half way stage.
He said that residents of the area would have their water supply restored within an hour. However, Balasuriya said that restoration of water supply to the other areas would take a few more hours.
