Public health inspectors in Nikaweratiya discovered a stock of food unsuitable for consumption, in a market area in Nikaweratiya.

The raid was carried out subsequent to a tip-off.

Nikaweratiya public health inspectors discovered 150,000 kilogrammes of potatoes and 400 kilogrammes of onions that were deemed unsuitable for consumption.

The owner of the wholesale market in question was produced before the Nikaweratiya Magistrate’s Court.
