Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion Faizar Mustapha engaged in a visit to Dambulla on Thursday.
The Deputy Minister engaged in discussions with chief Muslim clergy and other heads of the its donor committee on the current situation of the mosque located in close proximity to the Dambulla – Kandalama junction
In a press release issued by the office of the Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion, it was cited that the discussions focussed on “the safety of the mosque.”
The release also noted that the Deputy Minister had engaged in discussions over the phone with the IGP as well as senior DIG Anu Senanyake “on the security of the mosque.”
The press release further notes that Deputy Minister Faizar Mustapha had pledged that he will take steps to ensure that proceedings at the mosque will be carried out uninterrupted.
