The Police Headquarters states that 8,000 police officers will be deployed ahead of the World Youth Conference in Sri Lanka.
Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Ajith Rohana states that these police officers will have the tasks of ensuring the security arrangements at the conference as well as managing vehicular movement.
Chairman of the National Youth Services Council, Lalith Piyum Perera stated that a large number of youth delegates from 58 countries have already arrived in the country ahead of the World conference on Youth.
Meanwhile, a group including Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development, Dallas Allahapperuma engaged in a tour around the Hambantota Magam Ruhunupura International Convention Centre.
The fifteenth session of the World Conference on Youth is to commence in Sri Lanka on Tuesday and will be held until May 10.
