A body was found inside a well in the Doraweruwa area in Polpithigama.

It is learnt that the hands and legs of the deceased have been tied up.

According to the Police Media Unit, the corpse had been discovered based on investigations carried out on a tip-off.The deceased had been identified as fifty-five-year-old Withana Arachchilage Gunathilake a resident of Hangamuwa

The body was recovered by the Polpithigala Police last evening after the acting magistrate of the Mahawa Magistrate’s Court, Siripala Happuarchchi arrived at the location. Police has commenced investigations into the incident.
