President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that the resounding victory of the United People’s Freedom Alliance at the Western and Southern Provincial Council Polls, is a clear endorsement given by the people of the country for the “people-oriented programme” carried out by the government.

Issuing a message to mark the victory of the UPFA, President Rajapaksa said that the triumph achieved, will send a good, clear message to all the international pressure groups who are working against the motherland.
