Sri Lanka bags gold at Lusofonia Games

Sri Lanka bagged three gold medals and two silver medals at the Lusofonia Games on Friday.

The Lusofonia Games which are similar to the Commonwealth Games, but are held among former colonies of Portugal, are currently being held in Goa, India.

Upamalika Rathnakumari won gold on Friday in the Women’s 400 metres, with a time of 56.72 seconds.

Eranda Dinesh Kumara won gold in the Men’s Triple Jump with a distance of 15.74 metres. The Sri Lankan men’s

4  x 100 metre relay team also won gold on Friday with a time of 41.38 seconds.

Hashith Nirmal Kahatapiti Pathirage won silver in the men’s 110 metre hurdles event with a time of 14.58 seconds.

The Sri Lankan women’s 4 x 100 metre relay team meanwhile, won silver with a time of 47.67 seconds.
