A police checkpoint has been established to ensure safety at the Baduraliya Hospital.
The Police Media Unit said that the checkpoint was set up under the supervision of a police sub inspector and stated that no persons under the influence of alcohol will be permitted to enter the Baduraliya Hospital henceforth.
A tense situation arose recently when a group of individuals allegedly under the influence of alcohol had threatened the staff of the hospital which included doctors, when admitting a patient to the hospital.
The hospital staff commenced a strike action following the incident bringing activities at the hospital to a standstill for a period of four days. The doctors and staff of the Baduraliya Hospital recommenced their service following a guarantee received into their safety at the hospital.
