The Police Headquarters says that a new traffic plan will be implemented in the Kegalle town from Saturday until further notice.
Issuing a communique, the Police Headquarters said that the new traffic plan was implemented at 6 a.m. this morning to expedite the construction activities in light of the 2014 Deyata Kirula exhibition and the national independence day celebrations.
Accordingly, traffic from Kandy to Colombo will have to turn left from the clock tower in front of the Kegalle z[olice Superintendent’s office, proceed along the newly-built Bandaranayake Mawatha and fall onto to the Colombo-Kandy main road from the cemetery junction, in order to reach Colombo.
Traffic from Colombo to Kandy can move through Kegalle as before.
Meanwhile, the Colombo bus stop, which was in the city centre, has been temporarily relocated to the Walimannathota junction due to this new traffic plan.
