The International Olympic Committee has instructed Sri Lanka to postpone elections for the Sri Lanka Olympic Committee and amend regulations in the Sports Act.

The IOC has advised that the elections of Sports Associations under the National Olympic Committee be re-called and that the elections and constitutions of the respective associations be approved by the parent federation.

The IOC had issued these instructions following a meeting with the Minister of Sports and National Olympic Committee officials in Lausanne, Switzerland.
