Britain’s Barry Hall claimed the trophy at the F2 Powerboat Championships that were worked off on Sunday in Colombo.
Incidentally, this is the first time ever that a Powerboat Championship was hosted in Sri Lanka.
The Championship was worked off at the Beira Lake in Colombo and saw the participation of a number of local and international powerboat pilots. The F2 category comprised of three phases and each phase consisted of 15 rounds.
In addition to the Powerboats, a Jet ski championship was also worked off. The Championships was telecast live on MTV Sports. Rohan Gunathilake won the Time trial event in the Formula Category while Rohana Kumara and Saman Kumara were placed second and third respectively.
The F2 was the highlight of the day and Britain’s’ Barry Hall won all three rounds in the F2. British powerboat pilots were placed second and third in the event.
