Eight Organized Criminals Currently in Foreign Custody - SL Police

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Police confirmed that eight prominent organized criminals are currently being held in custody under foreign law enforcement agencies.

Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F.U. Wootler, stated that authorities are duly working on the necessary legal procedures to extradite these individuals to Sri Lanka as quickly as possible.

Efforts are underway to bring back 15 other suspects linked to various crimes, without Interpol "Red Notices" issued against them.

SL police have successfully repatriated 32 organized criminals who had fled the country to evade court and were subject to Red Notices since 2024.
