Indian Vice President to Inspect Housing Projects in Nuwara Eliya Today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Indian Vice President, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, who is currently on a two day visit in Sri Lanka, will inspect Indian-funded housing projects in Nuwara Eliya today. 

During the visit, he is also expected to meet with the Malaiyaha tamil community.

Furthermore, Vice President Radhakrishnan is set to participate in religious observances at the Seetha Amman Temple in Nuwara Eliya today.

The Indian Vice President, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday for a two-day official visit.

During discussions with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat, the Vice President expressed India's commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation Economy, Education, and Health, Tourism, Investment sectors and Trade, Energy Security and Port Development as well.

He also met with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya yesterday.

Special meetings were held in Colombo yesterday between the Indian Vice President and leaders of Sri Lankan Tamil political parties.

Leaders of the Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA), including Mano Ganesan, Palani Digambaram, and Bharat Arulsamy, as well as leader of the Ceylon Workers' Congress (CWC) Senthil Thondaman, participated in the discussions.

Leaders of Tamil political parties representing the Northern and Eastern provinces also met with the Vice President yesterday evening.

Indian Vice President Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to depart the island today.
