520 Arrested In 24-Hour Nationwide Anti-Drug Operation

COLOMBO (News 1st): A nationwide operation targeting the disruption of drug supply networks has resulted in the arrest of 520 suspects within the past 24 hours.

Issuing a statement, Police said that parallel investigations have been launched into the suspected illegal assets of several individuals apprehended during the operation.

Legal proceedings have also been initiated to secure detention orders against six suspects in connection with the raids.

During the course of the operation, 179 grams of heroin and 228 grams of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as “ICE,” were seized.

Further investigations are underway.
