Palestinian Foreign Minister to Visit Sri Lanka as Envoy Hails Colombo’s Unwavering Support

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Palestinian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Ihab I.M. Khalil, met with Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath to express deep appreciation for Sri Lanka’s continued and unwavering support toward the Palestinian people amid their ongoing crisis.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Khalil conveyed the Palestinian government’s heartfelt gratitude for Sri Lanka’s consistent backing at international forums, particularly at the United Nations, where Sri Lanka has extended steadfast support for resolutions concerning Palestine.

Ambassador Khalil emphasised that the strong positions taken by successive Sri Lankan governments in defence of Palestinian rights and self‑determination have earned Sri Lanka lasting respect and affection among Palestinians.
