Saman Ekanayake Further Remanded Until 18th

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake has been further remanded until the 18th.

This order was issued when the case was taken up before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

Saman Ekanayake has been named as the second suspect in the case filed under the Public Property Act against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris informed the court that the CID has been instructed to investigate whether former President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s wife, Prof. Maithree Wickramasinghe, and his private secretary Sandra Perera had misappropriated state funds during the controversial foreign visit.
