COLOMBO (News 1st); The North Central Province High Court today (11) issued notices requiring the Governor of the North Central Province and six other officials to appear in court on the 27th.
This was while considering six writ petitions filed before the Anuradhapura High Court, alleging that a group of Grade I Principals had been appointed unlawfully.
The petitions were taken up today before High Court Judge Anushka Seneviratne.
Among the other officials who were issued notices today are the Governor’s Secretary, the Provincial Council Chief Secretary, the Provincial Chief Secretary, and the Secretary of the North Central Provincial Public Service Commission.
The petitioners state that a number of individuals have been appointed as Grade I Principals in the North Central Province through irregular and unlawful procedures, bypassing legally established recruitment processes.
