Govt to Uplift Urban Living Standards; 27 Housing Projects to be Revitalized

COLOMBO (News 1st); Deputy Minister of Urban Development Eranga Gunasekara says that the government will take steps to uplift the standards of urban life.

Speaking at an event held in Colombo today, the minister stated that the Urban Development Authority, in particular, bears the responsibility of transforming the lives of the urban population in the country into highly comfortable ones.

He added that based on the studies conducted recently, there are more than 24

urban development housing projects.

Additionally, the minister also stated that within other urban settlements, there are three more, totaling 27 and the goal is to systematically work within these 27 projects this year and next year to empower the lives of over 100,000 people.
