COLOMBO (News 1st): Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who is on an official visit to Switzerland, is scheduled to take part in several high-level meetings today.
According to the Prime Minister's Media Division, her first discussion will be held with Guy Parmelin, President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research.
She is also expected to hold talks with Viola Amherd, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sports.
Prime Minister Amarasuriya departed the country yesterday to attend the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum.
The forum will be held in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, until January 23.
More than 3,000 global leaders, including heads of state, chief executives of leading multinational companies, policymakers, and technology innovators, are expected to participate in the 2026 World Economic Forum.
