COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Examinations says that all tuition classes for subjects that have not yet been conducted under the 2025 GCE Advanced Level Examination will be prohibited from midnight today.

The Department further announced that the conduct of subject-related lectures, seminars, and workshops, as well as the printing and distribution of model question papers containing predicted questions, will also be banned.

In addition, it will be illegal to publicize posters, banners, handbills, or advertisements through electronic or print media, claiming to provide questions similar to those appearing in the examination papers.

The Department of Examinations emphasized that any individual or institution violating these directives will be considered guilty under the Examinations Act.

The public is urged to report any such violations to the nearest police station, the Police Headquarters, the 119 Police Emergency Hotline, or the Department of Examinations’ emergency hotline 1911.

The remaining subjects of the 2025 GCE Advanced Level Examination will be conducted from January 12 to January 20, 2026, at 2,362 examination centers across the country.
