The Former Transport Manager of Sathosa Remanded Over State Property Misuse

COLOMBO (News1st):The Former Transport Manager of Sathosa Indika Ratnamalala has been remanded until January 9, after being produced before the Wattala Magistrate’s Court.

Ratnamalala was arrested last night by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) while staying at a hotel in Galle. He faces charges of aiding and abetting the misuse of state property.

The arrest comes shortly after Johan Fernando, son of former Minister Johnston Fernando, was taken into custody on charges including misappropriation of state property, obtaining an ethanol license through false information, defrauding the government of tax revenue, and money laundering.

The FCID is investigating an anonymous complaint received in November 2015 concerning a company operating at an address on Amarasekara Mawatha, Colombo.
