Technical Glitch Resolved; Identity Card Issuance Resumes as Normal

COLOMBO (News 1st); Acting Commissioner General of Registration of Persons M.S.P. Suriyapperuma stated that the technical glitch encountered during the issuance of identity cards has now been resolved.

She confirmed that the issuance of identity cards will resume as usual today.

According to the Acting Commissioner General, identity card services were disrupted yesterday between 1.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. due to the technical issue.

She further noted that arrangements have been made to send the identity cards that could not be issued during that period to the respective individuals by post.
