COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Railways announced that trains will operate today from Rambukkana, Polgahawela, Kurunegala, Ganewatta, Nattandiya, and Kochchikade to Colombo Fort.
Sri Lanka Railways Spokesperson Asanka Samarasinghe said that train operations on the northern and eastern main line routes had been restricted to Ambepussa following the collapse of the Bujjomuwa railway culvert between Ambepussa and Alawwa due to the recent disasters.
He added that repairs to the culvert have now been completed with the support of the Army, allowing services to resume.
