Drug Bust in Yala Reserve

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three large cannabis cultivations have been discovered in the , Gonagan Ara area of the Yala Sanctuary. 

The discovery was made during a four-day operation conducted by the Police within Yala. 

Police seized over 200,000 cannabis plants and more than 50 kilograms of dried cannabis from the location.

The cannabis cultivations reportedly spanned across an area of five acres, three acres, and two acres, respectively.

The Police stated that the cannabis cultiavations were completely destroyed.

Further investigations are underway to apprehend the suspects.
