Special Water Release To Colombo From Tomorrow

COLOMBO(News 1st); The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says water will be released to Colombo under a special water management plan from tomorrow.

Addressing a media briefing this afternoon, Chairman Chandana Bandara says the decision was made due to the ongoing dry weather conditions.

A special steering committee has been appointed to monitor and control water production and distribution.

The committee, comprising officers in charge of relevant areas, was appointed by the Chairman and General Manager of the Board.

It was formed to effectively manage rapidly drying water sources and the limited production capacity caused by the dry conditions.
