COLOMBO (News 1st); Police have arrested six suspects in connection with the brutal shooting that claimed the life of a 43-year-old man in Kotahena’s 16th Lane last Friday night.
The Colombo Crime Division confirmed that the arrests include a key suspect, three alleged accomplices, and two women believed to have aided the crime.
Investigators revealed that a key suspect and two others were first apprehended on November 9 at the Chemmani Junction along the A9 highway in Jaffna. Police seized a car and a mobile phone during the operation.
Further arrests followed yesterday, when two more men and a woman were taken into custody in Grandpass and Wellampitiya.
Authorities say the trio provided shelter and transport to the shooter, using a three-wheeler and mobile devices to coordinate movements.
The suspects, aged between 18 and 33, are residents of Grandpass, while the two women, aged 24 and 26, hail from Colombo 13 and Wellampitiya.
