Organized Criminal Linked to Weapons Found in Vavuniya, Kiribathgoda

COLOMBO (News 1st): Investigations have revealed that an individual named "Praveen", believed to be an organized criminal, is linked to the recent discovery of weapons in areas including Vavuniya and Kiribathgoda.

Police confirmed that a special investigation has been initiated to probe into the matter. Authorities added the suspect, "Praveen", is currently abroad.

Recently, three organized criminals, who had been deported from India, were arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport, in Katunayake.

Information implicating "Praveen" were revealed during interrogations conducted on the arrested organized criminals, under detention orders.

The interrogations are being carried out under the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

The suspects are accused of involvement in incidents related to the discovery of weapons in the Vavuniya and Kiribathgoda areas.
